I was really put off upon finding that I can no longer change my password in GW after using PlayNC to buy extra character slots. I contacted support and got what seemed like a canned answer. I'm not a tech expert, but I suspect the odds are that a program like GW is a lot less likely to have password security issues than any website, considering how very easy it is to pick up spyware/scumware in fairly normal browsing with the default settings on IE. Assuming of course that you're not using any illegal "cheat" or "hack" add-ons that you downloaded from some place.
Yes, I know that it's safer to use something besides IE, or at least change the defaults. I've cleaned *$(%*#(#$*@$*$*($ (aka browser helper objects) off of too many friends' pc's, so I don't accept "you should use other than the normal windows defaults," as an excuse to force password management through a website.
They could at least give us the option. Leave it default to the website control (likely to help avoid problems caused by illegal third-parties to GW,) but let those of us that aren't ever going to use third-party apps keep password control in the game interface.
So /signed
Don't make us change our password through the PlayNC site.
